Asian prunes please

On Sept 11th my friend Xuannie turned 30. She decided to not do the normal jazz and go clubbing, in fact she decided to have a relaxing day out at the Peninsula Hot Springs in Rye. With Spring just upon us it was the perfect time to go. We all started in the 36 degree bath then crept our way up to the hottest bath, reaching a top temperature of 43! I was able to sit in there for approximately 30 seconds only. If i was to stay any longer i would have been cooked!! Well done too by the way! LOL! We got the Bathing package which included robe, towel and locker hire, unlimited access to all the public pools, saunas and lunch. All this cost only $80. I think it's great value for money as we arrived at 10am and didn't leave until 4pm! We spent almost the whole day there just relaxing and watching the world go by! If you're running out of ideas on what to get your partner, friend or family member, why not treat them with a day at the hot springs! I highly recommend it and it's a place for all ages. Thanks again Xuannie for the perfect day out and i hope you enojyed your special day. Happy birthday!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Fragrance. CHECK!
I purchased this beautiful perfume from Priceline yesterday in a gift pack. Gift pack included 100ml bottle, body moisturiser and a necklace. All for AU$99! What a bargain!

Wish List

Do you ever ask yourself "i wish i had...." and when you go shopping you forget what you wished for? Well i do! I'm creating this section of my blog to remind myself of what i would like to purchase. Some items may be possible right now and some may not be. If anything this will be my memory box :)

Out of towners!

Over the weekend my extended family from sunny Brisvegas came down to wintry cold Melbourne. It's the start of Spring however Winter hasn't quite left us yet. They were down for a wedding. On Friday night they landed at 10:40pm however didn't arrive to my house til after 01:00am. The distance between the airport to my house is apprx an hour away (and that's being generous). The reason why it took so long was that the GPS that was used didn't have updated maps on it so it took them the long way! LOL! There are currently heaps of road works in Melbourne and there has been plenty of new roads that is now up and running. On Saturday they all came to watch Diva play basketball and oh my were they LOUD! Diva had a mini cheer squad that morning but unfortunately her team didn't win. They lost by just 1 point! The team was shattered! After the game we went to do our rounds and visit family friends. That took up the majority of the day as there were so many people to see in so little time. I guess that's the bad thing, when you go to visit one person/family then you have to go visit them ALL! By the time we were done mum went to get her hair cut and styled in Springvale. She couldn't believe how cheap it was compared to Qld prices. It cost her $25 for a trim and style. We headed back so everyone could get glammed up for the wedding. I looked after my niece at home as she was too tired to go to the wedding. She fell asleep at 7 that night! Poor dear :) On Sunday we visited more family/friends then went shopping! We only had enough time to go to one place so we ended up at DFO. Why pay retail right?! I was told that there is DFO in Brisvegas too however it isn't really that discounted so it's not very popular over there. Mary went nuts and brought four pairs of shoes, a bag, a pair of jeans and shorts! After shopping we headed to Church. I haven't been in so long but it was good to catch up with a few people that i haven't seen for awhile. After church we had dinner then it was time to go to the airport. Goodbyes are always hard! Diva was strong and held back her tears. She misses them already and is talking about visiting soon.

Mary Poppins

I went to see Mary Poppins tonight with Diva, Kimmysphere, Fenna and Marina. It was performed at Her Majesty's Theatre. The tickets cost $115 and we were seated at the top level. These tickets are in high demand as the show are all sold out! We booked ours in advance several months ago! Everything about this show was so elaborate and everything was just spectacular! The stage, the costumes, the lighting, the singing, the dancing was just magical! It was a full house with the young and the not so young! It was the perfect musical for everybody to enjoy. Oh i wish i could go and see it again! I can't wait for our next musical! They're SO much fun to watch! As we were heading back to the car we kept on singing "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" hahha.. try saying that five times fast!! It was Diva's first musical production that she has been to and she really enjoyed herself. Now i will need to go out and hire the DVD for her to watch. I remember watching Mary Poppins on tv when i was a young girl and it was definitely one of my favourite movies. The ticket to the show was my birthday present from Kimmysphere and Fenna so thanks so much my beautiful girls! I enjoyed the show immensely :)

My birthday!

Yesterday I celebrated my 29th birthday. Gees time flies when you get older! I remember when i was young and i always wanted to grow up quickly so i can do all the adult things! Well now i am 29 and i wish that time would stand still some days. But oh well, with age comes wisdom right? I'm not overly sure about that as i don't feel any wiser however i do learn new things from time to time. Yesterday i went out for dinner with the family. We ate at our local 'all you can eat' restaurant called Food Star! For some reason mum loves the place so we keep going back there whenever it's somebodies birthday or when we celebrate an occasion! I really don't mind the place.. well as long as we're together than that's all that really matters. Now this is starting to sound a lil sappy! hahah. Work surprised me with this lovely cake from Laurent (French patisserie) in Hawthorn and it was just divine! It consist of Brownie biscuit, milk chocolate mousse and creme brulee. They also gave me a bunch of balloons which were so cute! So that was pretty much how i spent my birthday this year! Yea Happy Birthday to me :)

Winterbeatz

Tonight I went to Winterbeatz (AU$130) which had an amazing lineup which started of with some local Aussie number's Phinesse and DJ Nino Brown then followed by Fatman Scoop, Big Boi, T-Pain and finished off with Ne-Yo!!! I didn't really enjoy Phinesse all that much however i was somewhat surprised with DJ Nino Brown. I've never heard of him but his mixes were really great and it got the crowd pumping. When Fatman Scoop came on he was huffing and puffing a fair bit but who could blame him! He told the crowd that he was 160kgs! He preformed 'Be Faithful' & 'Dance' which are my favourite songs from him. He sung/rapped to more songs that i wasn't familiar with. By the end of his act he took off his t-shirt! Ewwww! It wasn't very attractive! Big Boi (member from Outkast) i didn't like at all. I didn't recognise any of his songs! After about two songs i decided to go outside for a break. T-Pain was awesome! Before tonight i wasn't really a fan of his but after watching his act i might start listening to his tunes. It's really catchy and everyone got off the seats and started to dance! Even me! Some of the songs were 'Buy You A Drank' 'Bartender' 'Low' and 'Freeze'. He has a pretty cool sound! And of course they ended the show with the one and only...... Ne-Yo! OMG I LOVE NE-YO! He is so smooooooooth! The sweet sound of Ne-Yo makes my heart pound. He really has the MOST soulful voice i've ever heard, it's hypnotising! I can't wait for his new album that is due to launch in September! He sung all my favourite songs like 'Miss Independent' 'Mad' 'So Sick' ' Sexy Love' 'When You're Mad' 'Single' 'Because of you' 'Knocks You Down' then the show ended and then Ne-Yo re-entered the staged and apologised to the audience as he forgot to sing one more song for us! It was a nice surprise to end the night! So he ended it with 'Closer'. I've actually been listening to Ne-Yo songs in my car over and over again for the last fortnight! LOL!

The show started at 7pm and ended at 11pm. It definitely was money well spent and i enjoyed myself immensely!

Thanks Kim & Fi for organising it! Can't wait for our next RnB concert :p

Mol doll

On July 4th it was my oldest and dearest friend Molly's birthday. She had to say goodbye to her 20's and say hello to the fabulous 30's! I'm only calling 30's fabulous as i'll be turning 30 next year also :s She celebrated with a bang and hired the pool deck at The Ridges Hotel, Carlton. The theme was 'Black and White' cocktail party. There was finger food ranging from satay chicken skewers to mini noodles boxes (so cute). The food was so tasty but we all knew that we needed something to wash all that food down. The bar served beer, wine and spirits which was $5 a pop and that's pretty cheap. Night clubs nowadays charges about $8 per glass and you could easily spend $100 on drinks in one night. Molly looked absolutely stunning as usual. She wore a white Seduce dress and looked like a fallen angel. I've known Molly since i was 2 years old and we've remained close friends from then til now. From sleepovers to sleep ins, we did it all and we did it together. I love and cherish Molly, she's like the sister that i've never had. I wish her all the love and happiness in the world!!! Lub you long times Mol doll xoxo

Hellooooooooooooo! Is anybody out there?

I like to start of this blog by saying a MASSIVE thank you to Kimmyshere for helping me set this up. I'm not very computer illiterate and would have taken double, if not triple, the time to get this thing started. I asked the question, why blog? The answer I was given convinced me to start blogging! So here I am and this is what I'll be doing. I will treat this as my virtual diary to share my stories with family and friends and whomever else that wants to listen to me babble on!. My achievements, my failures, I will share it all. I think it is a fantastic idea to look back on this page a decade into the future and compare life as it is now and to see how much everything has changed. I will document my purchases and how much things will cost me. All in all this will be my virtual diary and my time capsule!

Ok so here's some info about me. I'm in my late 20's and a proud parent of my beautiful 11 year old daughter (can't imagine life without her). I work for the largest telecommunication company in Australia. I came to this wonderous country when I was a mere 2 years of age. We came over as refugees. I couldn't see myself living anywhere else in the world but here! I LOVE AUSTRALIA! I have a small intimate circle of friends who you'll get to know in future blogs. I won't say too much more... I'll let this blog tell the rest of my story...

Under construction!

Thanks to Kimmysphere this blog is now underway! Although it is still under construction and i will go live shortly!

Watch this space!!! LOL!! Blahahhah
